WaysForward
WAYSFORWARD IN ADULT MENTAL HEALTH
Fast, Focused, Highly Interactive Online Help
WaysForward is a focused, fast and highly interactive program designed to help with all kinds of personal and emotional difficulties - anxiety, depression, and phobias, but also relationship problems, drink/drugs issues, bereavement, work or study difficulties, and so on.
WaysForward uses the ideas and methods of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and so provides an alternative to the online programs that use a CBT approach. The WaysForward program can be completed in about twenty minutes, making it a more focused resource than some other programs.
WaysForward has been used in a number of Counselling and Adult Mental Health settings. It is currently on the Members area of the Anxiety UK website.
24/7 Access to Online Self Help
WaysForward can be linked to your organisation website to give your Service Users 24/7 access to a self help support resource.
“I have used the program with clients and found it valuable. Short-term clients are focused quickly on issues and current resources. With longer term clients, it has been helpful in charting progress and bringing to light hidden issues and support mechanisms. At one level counsellors may already use these techniques, but there is something very powerful in the client working this through for themselves”
“It (WaysForward) would be an excellent resource for a counselling service, where clients could either use it before their first session, or possibly without seeing a counsellor.”
(Review in “Counselling at Work” Journal Spring 2006)
“Six out of the eight clients either agreed or strongly agreed that it (WaysForward) encouraged them to think of things they were already doing which might help them improve their problems. Six out of the eight clients said the program helped them think of things they might do in future which would lead to improvements.”
