WaysForward
WAYSFORWARD WITH SCHOOLS AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Fast, Focused, Highly Interactive Online Help
WaysForward is a focused, fast and highly interactive program designed to help with all kinds of personal and emotional difficulties - anxiety, depression, and phobias, but also relationship problems, drink/drugs issues, bereavement, work or study difficulties, and so on.
WaysForward uses the ideas and methods of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and so provides an alternative to the online programs that use a CBT approach. The WaysForward program can be completed in about twenty minutes, making it a more focused resource than some other programs.
WaysForward has been used since 2004 in Secondary Schools, by Educational Psychologists, in Youth Counselling Agencies, by CAMHS teams, and in Foster Care agencies. The program can be used by children and young people working on their own, but in many settings the young person and their support worker will go through the program together, using it as the basis for further discussion.
24/7 Access to Online Self Help
WaysForward can be linked to your organisation website to give your Service Users 24/7 access to a self help support resource.
“WaysForward is fun and serious at the same time”
“It made me think of what I can do to help me get better”
“On a bad day it calmed me down and made me think about my behaviour”
“It made me think about the good things about myself too”
(Quotes taken from Review in “Counselling Children and Young People” Journal Winter 2006)
“Looking at the computer screen together while the young person is answering the questions is a bit like talking together while doing the washing up – it changes the dynamic of the relationship and allows a different kind of talking”
(Testimonial from a Behaviour Support Teacher 2007)
